Early Childhood Development Education
We focus on delivering comprehensive early childhood education that supports the foundational growth and development of young children. Our programs ensure that both refugee and host community children have access to quality early learning environments, including child-friendly spaces, developmental activities, and nutritional support. Through fostering a strong start in life, we aim to build a solid foundation for future academic and personal success. In this regard, Ademaria Initiative has established Ademaria community Academy- an early childhood learning Centre for the underprivileged refugees and vulnerable host children where aim to support 10000 children. Our ECD center has become a safe space for mothers to leave their children and embark on their jobs without any barrier in terms child caring burdens.
Primary and Secondary Education
Primary and Secondary Education: Our commitment extends to primary and secondary education, where we strive to enhance access and quality for all children. We work to establish and partner with learning institutions such as government schools that provide a safe and inclusive educational experience. Through these partnerships and our scholarships, we address the diverse needs of both refugee and host community students. Our goal is to ensure that every child receives the education necessary to achieve their potential and contribute to their community’s growth and development. We have been able to support children to further their education.
Through integrating these efforts, we aim to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment that empowers children from both refugee and host communities to excel academically and thrive personally.
Vocational Training and Financial Literacy
Vocational Training and Financial Literacy: We offer comprehensive vocational training programs that equip women with practical skills in various trades and professions such as hairdressing, Art and Craft, brick laying, metal fabrication, fashion and design. These programs are complemented by financial literacy workshops, helping women manage their finances effectively, build savings, and make informed economic decisions. Ademaria Initiative has been able to train women in various trades in Kampala, Busia and Tororo districts.
Business Support and Mentorship
Business Support and Mentorship: Our business support services include mentorship and guidance for women entrepreneurs. We assist in developing business plans, accessing market opportunities, and navigating the challenges of starting and growing a business. We have trained women in business support and mentorship.
Village Loan and Savings Associations (VSLA)
Village Loan and Savings Associations (VSLA): We facilitate the establishment and management of Village Loan and Savings Associations, providing women with access to micro-loans and savings opportunities. These associations support entrepreneurial ventures, enhance financial stability, and foster community-based economic growth. We have established VSLAs among the communities we serve of which most of their members are women.
Advocacy for Decent Work and Equal Opportunities
Advocacy for Decent Work and Equal Opportunities: We advocate for decent work conditions and fair pay for refugees, addressing structural barriers that hinder equal employment opportunities. Our efforts aim to create a more inclusive job market where women, regardless of their refugee or host status, can access equitable employment and career advancement. We have done this through engaging both policymakers and other minded organizations to form a collective voice that could transform the current dilemma faced by women on both divided though refugees carry a disproportionate burden in this regard.
Through these comprehensive livelihood programs, we aim to uplift women, enhance their economic independence, and support their successful integration and advancement in both refugee and host communities.
Gender based Violence
At Ademaria Initiative, we integrate gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response into all our programs, including livelihood and education initiatives. By empowering women through vocational training, financial literacy, and economic support, we reduce their vulnerability to GBV, fostering economic independence and resilience. We also raise awareness about GBV and gender equality within our educational programs, promoting respectful relationships and community-wide understanding.
