Ademaria Initiative

With a passionate and qualified team, Ademaria Initiative operates across Uganda, striving to extend our impact to other African cities. We collaborate with government ministries, international organizations, refugee networks, and faith-based institutions to achieve our mission.

Ademaria is a social enterprise embodying a two-generation approach empowering women and mothers with vocation skills training and financial literacy while providing their children with nursery and daycare services.

To create a world where women, mothers, and children have the tools and resources to withstand challenges.

About Ademaria Initiative

Ademaria Initiative (A.I.) is a refugee NGO founded by Asiimwe Gloria, dedicated to empowering women and children through a two-generational approach that fosters resilience and holistic well-being. Our work focuses on advocacy, early childhood education, Gender based violence and gender equity, primary and secondary education, and livelihoods, aiming to create equal opportunities, promote gender equality, and strengthen social cohesion. We enhance awareness of women, children, and refugee rights, provide comprehensive education, and deliver vocational training, financial literacy, and business support and mentorship to build sustainable futures.

What We Do

Our programs are designed to promote social cohesion, provide essential services, and create sustainable opportunities, helping individuals achieve self-reliance and build better futures.

Early Childhood Development Education

We focus on delivering comprehensive early childhood education that supports the foundational growth and development of young children. Our programs ensure that both refugee and host community children have access to quality early learning environments, including child-friendly spaces, developmental activities, and nutritional support. Through fostering a strong start in life, we aim to build a solid foundation for future academic and personal success. In this regard, Ademaria Initiative has established Ademaria community Academy- an early childhood learning Centre for the underprivileged refugees and vulnerable host children where aim to support  10000 children. Our ECD center has become a safe space for mothers to leave their children and embark on their jobs without any barrier in terms child caring burdens.

Primary and Secondary Education

Primary and Secondary Education: Our commitment extends to primary and secondary education, where we strive to enhance access and quality for all children. We work to establish and partner with learning institutions such as government schools that provide a safe and inclusive educational experience. Through these partnerships and our scholarships, we address the diverse needs of both refugee and host community students. Our goal is to ensure that every child receives the education necessary to achieve their potential and contribute to their community’s growth and development. We have been able to support children to further their education.

Through integrating these efforts, we aim to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment that empowers children from both refugee and host communities to excel academically and thrive personally.

Vocational Training and Financial Literacy

Vocational Training and Financial Literacy: We offer comprehensive vocational training programs that equip women with practical skills in various trades and professions such as hairdressing, Art and Craft, brick laying, metal fabrication, fashion and design. These programs are complemented by financial literacy workshops, helping women manage their finances effectively, build savings, and make informed economic decisions. Ademaria Initiative has been able to train women in various trades in Kampala, Busia and Tororo districts.
